Uncle Tupelo Picture
Uncle Tupelo, the seminal '90s band from Belleville Illinois, is often hailed as the genesis of alt-country. While high school friends Jay Farrar, Jeff Tweedyand Mike Heidorn may shirk that credit, their mutual quest to blend punk rockroots with traditional folk classic countrymelodies had a profound effect on rootsmusic. Formed in 1987, Uncle Tupelo released four full-length albums before disbanding in 1994. Tweedy formed the band Wilco, while Farrar formed Son Voltas well as performing solo. now, it's free and you will discover so much great music :) Upload Your MusicFor ArtistsFor LabelsWidgetsDownload Last.fmImage ChartsPlugins & ExtrasData FeedsBlog Badges & LogoTop ChartsWeekly Top ArtistsWeekly Top TracksOverall Tag ChartsFree DownloadsForumsWeb Site SupportLast.fm Client SupportFeedback and IdeasAbout UsContactAdvertiseTeamModeratorsCareersHelpFAQSupportWhat’s NewPrivacySubscribeRecent Updates.

Train Lyrics

Uncle Tupelo

A quarter after two
Sittin' in my car, watching
Waiting on a train
Ninety-seven flatcars
Loaded down with troop trucks and tanks
Rolling by

I'm twenty-one, and I'm scared as hell
I quit school, I'm healthy as a horse
Because of all that I'll be the first one to die in a war

The whole damn town was sleeping
Dreaming the same dream
The radio was playing
Roger McWilliams singing
"To each and every thing there's a time and a season

I'm twenty-one, and I'm scared as hell
I quit school, I'm healthy as a horse
Because of all that I'll be the first one to die in a war

Yes, I have the right to say
We all die anyway
But I'd just like to know
Where does my time go
